No. 04The four botanicals

Grown in fields, not in a lab brief.

Four plants, bought from two farms we can drive to. Tap a point on the table to read about each one.

Overhead still life on pale stone: marigold petals, violet leaves and flowers, rolled oats, halved plums and a pool of golden oil

Saffron & marigold

Crocus sativus · Calendula officinalis

A pinch of saffron threads and a basket of marigold petals, infused slowly in sunflower oil for six weeks, then strained by hand. The colour you see in the balm is the flower.

No. 05The evening ritual

Two cupped hands holding a few drops of plum-coloured face oil over lilac linen, a marigold flower beside them

Step four: three drops, warmed in the palms.
